Art of Play A's to your Q's (aka FAQ!)

Q: I'm not creative, this clearly isn't for me.

A: Ok, that's a statement and not a question - but I hear it all the time and need to address it! Strike it out! Yes, you are! Play is for everyone and this is not a fine painting class, it's a loosey-goosey layered creative event - you CAN do all these things! It's fun. The entire thing is about processes, not outcomes.

Q: I can't even draw a stick figure!

A: Again with the statements - it's okay! I'm not going to ask you to. There is no stick figure drawing in the Art of Play, so you're safe :)

Q: What supplies do I need?

A: I bring them all with me. Just bring your beautiful self and your open mind.

Q: How much is this?

A: The Art of Play is FREE! I donate my time out of a genuine love for sharing creativity with others and all supplies are included in the sessions. "HOW? WHY?", you might ask. Honestly, the answer is simple - because it matters, because you matter and because I know the benefits of creative play first hand and need to share it with others. It's that simple.

Supplies are generously donated by members of the community and funded in part by Cross Culture Community, a 501(c)3 that is near and dear to my heart, as well as a strong and integral supporter of the Art of Play. The truth of it is they believe in this, too, and they believe in you

While sessions are free, you are welcome to donate to Cross Culture Community to give back to the range of causes they support from local level to global. To learn more about CCC visit their Facebook page.  Donors are welcome to contribute to the general fund or earmark funds to the Art of Play.

Q: I have no art experience.

A: That's perfect! I am going to show you that you are still creative and able to create some beautiful things, as well as give you that art experience you don't have.

Q: How large of a group can you accommodate?

A: While I can be flexible for somewhat larger groups (think around 15-20) the recommended size of a session is 8 or less people. While the Art of Play is made of simple steps and {buildable, transferrable} techniques, as a facilitator I do like the ability to have 1:1 with participants as needed and with large groups that gets difficult. We can still talk about it, though - again, I'm flexible and try to accommodate as much as I am able!
